Arrived in Amsterdam after much ado about finding the correct train from Schiphol. After taking the hour class in Portland called "Packing lightly" and we thought, graduating, we lugged very heavy bags searching for our B+B. Linda and I were at the Eel house with a very steep skinny stairs, with only 1 room on each floor, while Debbie stayed at the West Violet Inn nearby, which had a much more contemporary air to it.  We dodged cars, scooters and mostly bicycles to see The Anne Frank House, The Rijks museum, outdoor market and the Red Light district. If we dared stray into the bike lane (which could be anywhere) we would hear a light dinging of the bike bell, mouth clicking with disgust, or in one case a "whoopsie"! We tried all the local specialties including pancakes, apple pie, Heineken and patats. We formed a Heineken tasting focus group but we walked many many kilometers so our money belts are still in their original settings. We had the best hot chocolate in an old tavern the last night. After three days in Amsterdam, we took the three hour 15 minute train ride to Paris this afternoon.
